What is Knot So Traditional?
Knot So Traditional is what happens when a wedding officiant refuses to force couples to fit into a recycled ceremony, and instead creates ceremonies that fit the couple. I welcome quirky, heartfelt, and even "weird" ideas. The only limitation is your imagination.
Who Knot So Traditional Serves
Inclusivity is the heart of Knot So Traditional, not an add-on service. Every kind of love story is welcome. That includes LGBTQIA+ couples, secular partners, blended families, multicultural couples, and anyone who has ever wondered, “Is our vision too different?” The answer is no.

Hi! I’m Rachel, ordained wedding officiant and the person behind Knot So Traditional.
I didn’t become an officiant to replicate traditional ceremonies. I became an officiant because I care about inclusion, language, story, and the way people are made to feel seen in one of the most important moments of their lives. Before this, my career centered around learning and development; building programs, facilitating conversations, and helping people find clarity in complex or high-stakes moments. That thread still runs through everything I do today.I’m structured but not rigid, detail-oriented but not overly formal, and steadfast about making things easy without making them generic. I work best with couples who want something intentional, personal, and a little (or a lot) outside the expected, even if they’re not totally sure what that looks like yet.Most of my ceremonies are non religious or lightly spiritual, but what matters most is that they reflect your unique love story. We shape the structure, the words, and the flow so it feels natural, not like something you’re performing.Simply put: I’m here to translate your relationship into something honest, personal, and memorable, so when you look back on your ceremony, it feels like it could only have belonged to you. Whether you are planning a barefoot beach elopement, a Star Wars themed extravaganza, or a heartfelt backyard vow exchange, I am here to make your ceremony as unique as your love.

The Knot So Traditional Experience
1. We start with a conversation
We kick things off with a consultation that feels more like a conversation than an interview. No pressure to have it all figured out. You can come with a full vision or just a strong sense of what you don’t want.
2. We build it together
Your ceremony is not something I hand to you; it is something we create together. I guide the process and help shape your ideas into something cohesive and meaningful, but you get to call the shots. After all, it is your ceremony.
3. Make it Your Own
Want to include traditions? Cool. Skip them? That's cool, too. Create completely new ones? Even cooler. All of it is on the table. There is no “right way” to get married; there is only what is right for you.
4. Show Up and Enjoy
By the time your wedding day arrives, you won't have to wonder how the ceremony will go - you will be excited for it. Your only responsibility is to stand there and live your moment.
